The City maintains a five-step wage range for the majority of positions. Collective bargaining between employee organisations and the City determines other annual compensation changes. Employees with specific language talents may be eligible for a compensation increase if they work in roles that demand the usage of bilingual capabilities.


Paid Time Off -

One year later, two weeks.

Five years later, three weeks.

After thirteen years, there will be more rises.

Employees are allowed to collect vacation time equal to two annual vacation periods.


Sick Time -

Employees are given a generous amount of sick time for illness and injury.


Health and Dental Insurance -

For employees, spouses, domestic partners, and qualified children, the City offers a choice of health and dental programmes. There are both managed care and preferred provider plans available.


Compensation in the Future -

This plan is available as an addition to retirement benefits. Employees who participate in this plan voluntarily defer a portion of their compensation in order to prepare for financial independence when they retire while also lowering their income taxes.


Reimbursement for Dependent Child and Elder Care Expenses -

Employees can contribute pre-tax funds to an account from which they can be reimbursed for dependent child/eldercare expenses under this optional plan.
